Connecting Tungsten RPA to Google BigQuery

ISSUE

I am looking for the best practice to connect Tungsten RPA to a Google BigQuery database. Could you please advise if there is a native connector available, or if it is recommended to use a JDBC/ODBC driver or the REST API?

SOLUTION

In RPA we do not have any direct connectors. Any connections to database-like systems are done via JDBC drivers and only following are supported by RPA (2026.1):

• Microsoft SQL Server 2022
• Microsoft SQL Server 2019
• MySQL 8.4
• Oracle 19c
  • Using the RPA-provided Oracle script in compatibility mode is not supported. For details, refer to the Knowledge Portal article "ORA-00972 Error Creating Management Console tables in Oracle."

Anyway, by looking into BigQuery documentation, I can see that they have REST API interface (see https://docs.cloud.google.com/bigquery/docs/reference/rest), so you can use Call REST API steps to connect and work with BigQuery
