ISSUE

After upgrading to 2026.3, the jobs are suspended with the following error:

The job has been suspended. Unable to add row. Design time column collection should match with runtime column collection.

CAUSE

The reason is the change in behavior of complex variables. In version 2026.2 and earlier, when a complex variable was initiated, it was with one empty row. The usual practice was to delete such a row via the Complex Variable activity, action Delete Row. Since 2026.3, the initialization of complex variables has changed, and it is initialized without this empty row, so deleting a row that does not exist results in an error. Sadly, the error message is also not very clear, as it mentions the issue of adding a row instead of deleting a row. This change in behavior was in Bug 2263895:Dynamic Complex variable behaving differently after Tungsten upgrade to 2026.3.1 confirmed as designed.

SOLUTION

As the behavior is different in 2026.2 (and earlier) and 2026.3, both situations (variable initialized with or without an empty row) can occur; implement a condition to check if the variable contains a row or not before calling Delete Row.
