Test ASE/KSMS performance using TotalAgility Capture Starter Pack

PURPOSE

To determine whether the Vendor Search slowness is specific to AP Agility or is caused by another factor, use the Capture Starter Pack to perform a controlled performance test.

SOLUTION

Please follow the steps below to configure the Capture Starter Pack and test the Vendor Search functionality.

1. Import the Capture Starter Pack

1. Log in to TotalAgility Designer.
2. Click Import and select Capture Starter Pack.

2. Generate and Release the Document Form

1. Navigate to User Interface → Forms → Create Forms → Generate → Document Forms.
2. Under Document Type, navigate to:
• Capture Starter Pack
• Select Capture Starter Pack
• Expand RootDocumentType
• Expand Order Forms
• Select Northwest
3. Select the Validation checkbox.
4. Click Generate and Release.

3. Configure the Capture Starter Pack Project in Transformation Designer

1. Log in to Transformation Designer.
2. Select Open Project and choose Category → All.
3. Select Capture Starter Pack from the Extraction Group and click OK.
4. Navigate to Project Settings → Database.
5. In the case of ASE Engine: Add an Associate Search Database data source pointing to the vendorASE.csv file.
   1. Name the data database as VendorASE, similar to the database setting VendorASE in the InvoiceProcessingAgility project.
6. In the case of KSMS Engine: Remote Fuzzy Database and configure the server
   1. Name the Database as VendorKSMS, similar to the database setting VendorKSMS in the InvoiceProcessingAgility project.
7. Release the project and close it.

4. Release the Classification Group Project

1. In Transformation Designer, open the Capture Starter Pack → Classification Group project.
2. Release the project and close it.

5. Configure the Vendor Search Button

1. Log in to TotalAgility Designer.
2. Navigate to User Interface → Forms → Category → Capture Starter Pack.
3. Open the Northwest_Validation form.
4. Add a button below the Check/Money Order field and name it Vendor Search.
5. Select the Vendor Search button.
6. Under the Control section, uncheck Causes Validation.
7. Go to Action and add an action of type Fuzzy Search, similar to the configuration used in the Invoices Validation form.
8. In Case of ASE: Select VendorASE as the Data Source.
9. In Case of KSMS: Select VendorKSMS as the Data Source
10. Configure the field mappings as follows:
• IndexID → SourceNumber
• Name → CustomerName
11. Click Update.
12. Click Release, then Close and Unlock the form.

6. Process a Document and Test Vendor Search

1. Log in to TotalAgility Workspace using the following URL:
   https://<your-servername>/TotalAgility/forms/capturestarterpack/
2. Scan a document.
3. Complete the Document Review activity by selecting the Northwest document class.
4. Once the document reaches the Validation activity, test the Vendor Search functionality and observe the search performance.

This test will help determine whether the Vendor Search slowness is specific to AP Agility or whether it is caused by another factor within the environment.

Important Note

As with any testing or configuration changes, Tungsten Automation strongly recommends implementing and testing the changes in a lower/non-production environment before making any changes to the production/live environment.
